This Design Upon Request contract was advertised in Professional Services Bulletin PSB 20-1 on 04/27/20, BidBuy #20-557THA-ENGCO-B-14575. Selection Committee results were determined on 6/29/20. The contract was awarded to Ciorba Group, Inc. on 8/20/20 via board resolution 22083 in the amount of $3,000,000.00. This contract is set to expire on 12/31/26. Remaining work on the contract includes design effort for drainage improvements within Katherine Legge Park located near the Hinsdale Oasis. If the contract expiration date is not extended, this work would need to be completed by a different DSE contract and there would be a loss of knowledge/history and efficiency with the change in DSE. A one-year amendment is requested. As far as the question on the 12-month extension time-frame. The timeline is required because the work requires coordination with external parties. There are 2 assumed submittals to the local agency/municipality which is a 3-4 month timeframe for each submittal to allow for the local agency to review, provide comments and for the DSE to update per comments. These 2 submittals plus another month to provide the "final" plans comes to approximately a 10 month time-frame needed beyond the current contract expiration date. We don't have hard dates at this time as we need to coordinate those with the local agency still. No additional funds are required.
