Brief Information about the bid - Please see attached bid document for full details. Clean the microfilm reels that are housed in boxes with visible mold spores. The sides of the reel and the out circumference of the film will be vaccumed with a HEPA vacuum. The last 18" of the film will be wiped down with microfiber cloth, a non-ionic wetting agent such as Photo-Flo may be applied. If the vendor decides more cleaning is required or if visible mold is seen further than 18" into the reel, the vendor will not perform anymore cleaning and will contact the ALPLM for further instructions. The reels will be isolated and dealt with separately. Replace every box with a new standard size archival friendly microfilm box regardless if there are visible mold spores or not. Re-label the new boxes with a typed label with the same information from the previous label. Package the newly boxed reels in shipping boxes to be sent to new offsite storage facility, boxes must weigh less than 70 pounds, the ALPLM will provide shipping labels. Vendor must be able to hold final, cleaned microfilm for at least 30 days for processing of shipping labels and actual pickup. Please see attached bid document for further information.
