This is a prevailing wage procurement. Vendor shall be responsible for securing and utilizing the copies of the current prevailing wages in effect.". Item 1 1. Description changed from "Repair of the IDOT Hanley Building 3rd floor down escalator. The escalator has been experiencing a noticeable rolling bump on the black handrails with a loud thumping noise located inside the operating mechanism. Upon an inspection it was deemed the upper handrail sprocket was damaged with missing teeth and that the idler pully and chain connected to the sprocket that operates the handrail to be defective as well. Furthermore upon the inspection it was noted that the lower sprocket and idler pully could potentially be defective as well. It was noted to inspect the lower sprocket and pully at the top section of the escalator would need to be removed along with some floor tiles and supporting braces and brackets. It is also recommended that the lower operating sprocket and pully be inspected at the very minimum or replace while the upper sprocket and chain are being repaired.
