RENEWAL NOTICE THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This construction contract was advertised on 09/21/2021. BidBuy # 22-557THA-ENGCO-B-24967. Bids were received on 10/29/2021. The contract was awarded by the Tollway Board to Judlau Contracting, Inc. on 12/16/2021 via board resolution 22354 in the amount of $37,785,426.29. The contract is set to expire 5/31/2026. Contract I-21-4737 provides the construction of several retaining walls in support of the Union Pacific Railroad alignment relocation necessary for the construction of I-490 as part of the Elgin O'Hare Western Access project. The construction schedule for these retaining walls has been impacted by right of way acquisition occurring later than specified. It was also impacted by railroad, airport, and adjacent contract coordination. The contract is currently only 60 percent complete. The renewal is requested as non-completion of remaining work would have significant cost and schedule ramifications to the I-490 corridor impacting multiple parties (railroads, townships, CDA, etc.).
